About an hour to an hour and a half, depending on if there are accidents or not. I-95 is full speed, but it's full of dangerous drivers and thus accidents can mess up the flow. You could get off and take an alternate pretty easily though, so anything over an hour and a half is rare I would say.

How do you like Jupiter so far? Please don't tell me your job is in Fort Lauderdale and you are going to commute from Jupiter every day...if you are, I do wish you a very safe commute every day.

Love Jupiter. Love love love it. What type of alternates are there? Turnpike or route one or others?

Turnpike is going to swing you out of your way, then you have to drive through "da hood" in Ft. Lauderdale to get to work (Sunrise Blvd is the pits, and 595 is out of the way). Also, traffic situation is about the same, but less lanes so it's a little safer, although the turnpike through Broward is under construction right now. Your alternates if there is an accident would be Millitary Trail (Palm Beach)/Andrews Ave (Broward) or Dixie Highway. You also have Congress Ave. from WPB to Boca if there is an accident. Australian Ave can get you around accidents north of Southern Blvd, but that's kind of a nasty area. U.S.1 would take FOREVER because of all of the lights.

We lived in Jupiter and will be returning in Sept. There are only 2 choices that are realistic Turnpike or I-95. Route 1 would take you 3 hours with all the lights. And the Turnpike does not let you get off right where you want to so that is a bad idea.

Like compelled said, it could easily be 1.5 hours on 95.

I wouldn't do it. It takes about an hour and a half without any traffic. You can assume there will be traffic so assume AT LEAST 2 hours each way and more on some days.

I love Jupiter, but I wouldn't live there and work in Fort Lauderdale.

That would be hell. Its way too far. 60 miles each way and there's still plenty of construction in Palm Beach county on I-95 the last time I had to travel on it. I'd imagine 2 hours each way would be average during rush hour. If there's an accident or rain, even longer.

It's way too far IMO. Try finding a home in Fort Lauderdale or Hollywood instead. Even the western suburbs if you're into the country thing. Jupiter is just too far, you'll drive yourself crazy driving so much everyday. Too many hours.
