I don't care what the time is supposed to be, set the time for whatever is most convenient. Personally, I'd prefer somewhat more daylight in the evening — early morning daylight isn't as useful.

Well they are in that timezone because they are in the tropics and being in the natural timezone works best in the trophics.

I found a dead daddy long legs/crane fly on my draining board all wet with legs broken off. I'm not sure how it got there.

I'm having fantasies about the UK being located between 30-36°N in the Atlantic than where it is now. Climate would be immeasurably improved.

back in lincolnshire for few days... max of 13c today with strong wind.

Well today is the first day it felt cold out. But we were colder than england. I was out at lunch and it was 8c.
