Just sick of cabin fever, summer never ending, sunny and hot.
Will summer ever end? Will winter ever come? Who knows? Hard to have faith in the change of seasons, when it's just as hot as it's ever been, the forecast of sunny and hot going out as far the eye can see. Sunny and hot...sunny and hot, never-ending, the days crawling by at the speed of flowing molasses. It's enough to drive a person insane. Or this one anyways.
I always found it funny that Launceston has more sun hours than Melbourne Even Hobart has more sun hours in winter

We briefly had your temps a couple days ago, it was pretty horrible. Looked at your forecast and it looks like what ours was several weeks ago. It's starting to look down a bit here, thank goodness. I'm able to walk outside now and not become as wet as a damp towel.

What's particularily frustrating is that we really did have a gentle summer, the coolest and rainest in years, in fact, and we even had a couple days in August when maxes stayed in the mid 60's - you can bet I was feeling pretty happy then...lol. But now, it seems that the piper demands payment, along with some nasty interest. We're getting that old summer broken-record forecast out to the end, generally 69-89 F each day (won't be surprised if we go into the 90's next week as brutal high pressure builds in overhead.)

Launceston is a bit inland and is protected from the southwest and south by an extent land and mountains. The majority of our lead skies originate from the southwest and in Melbourne's case there is no protection, Melbourne is the first landfall for this disgusting filth. Plus the Great Dividing range to our north ensures that the clag gets firmly locked in place.
Launceston is one of the most desirable climates in Tasmania. According to the BOM, they get 2555 hours of sun annually and summers are quite pleasant by Tassie standards with average highs between 24-25C.
For once, I agree. It's almost hard to believe that it reached 30C in Kent and Essex today and up here it reached 22C with cloudy skies prevailing. I think it'd make more sense if the SE and East Anglia were cut off and attached to France.
