It should also be noted that most of New England averages in the 40's in March. Worcester, for example, averages 43/26F in March. That's not wintry, but it's also not an average that lends itself to weeks of >70F temperatures. If 2 weeks of 70F or higher were normal for the region, the averages would be much warmer than 43F.

Even as far south as Raleigh, North Carolina, >70F for 2 solid weeks isn't terribly common. Sure, the average high is 63F but there are typically some sub-70F days mixed in even during a warmer than normal pattern. It takes quite a warm spell to create 2 solid weeks of 70F or higher, even in North Carolina. Back to New England, 70F at some point in the month is far from unheard of, but it's nearly always a temporary warm spike.

As for Owen's statement that places with those winter maxes don't get above 60F in summer, that is usually true in a maritime climate, but pretty all of the Laurentian continent east of the Cascades/Sierras is continental in nature. Get used to it.

But whining is fun and entertaining. When I use to read weather posts from Flight Simmer/Galaxyman it had me lmfao.

Yes. But when it rains in your place its summer mostly so rain doesnt last. When it rains here in the summer it can last for upto 2 weeks. 2 weeks of constant cloud wants you to commit succide. Thats why im hoping to spend at least a month this summer away.

Where I'm at when it rains in the fall it often is on and off for a week and very cloudy. Besides I like fall rain the best. To be an all day pouring rain and windy with a high of 15C is what I would want for a winter day. Snow makes my head spin.

Gordo, if you spent winters in Victoria and summers in Osoyoos, would that satisfy your climate preferences? At least that way you wouldn't have to worry about immigration or visas? It may not be 100% ideal for you but could be a somewhat close approximation.

Its only been a teeny bit below average. Certainly below highland areas I would not call it a snowy winter. It wasnt cold either.
Ye, more than a foot of snow, lying snow for a total of 40-45 days, frosts on more than half of nights, average temperature below 2°C, it's been a cold and snowy winter here. It wasn't where you live. That you live "only 200 miles" away has nothing to do with it. You live way further out towards the Atlantic and nowhere near the elevation I do. My winters here beat the snot out of anything you get there thanks to these reasons. Get over it.

Maybe but Victoria while it has better winter temperatures it's too dry for me in the winter. But there are nearby places I like.

Owen is totally blinkered by reality and cannot fathom that places considerably further south than him have experienced far more snow and cold weather than he will ever, ever, ever experience in Northern Ireland, one of the worst places for a cold and snow lover in the UK - I'd rather be in Essex or Norfolk.
