What a shame to have this joyless icy cold damp weather ruining the longest days of the summer season. Even in the house it's very cold and the heating will need to go on later. We get through 8 cold months of winter in the UK climate only to have this garbage even in summer.

I'm currently watching coverage of the Diamond Jubilee and it's currently raining and apparently foggy in London. Current temperature there is 53F. I'd be soaking it up all I could if I was in England . Northern New England and the Maritimes are also getting great weather by my standards - 50's with a rain and wind storm, with temperatures remaining below 70F for at least the next 7 days.

Love it or hate it, the weather for the Diamond Jubilee is protoypically British, and I think that's just fine for such a big event.

By the way, I'll always be amused by you and the previous poster calling temperatures of 50F+ "icy". Have you Commonwealthers never actually experienced cold weather ? "Icy" to me implies something cold and windy enough to coat an Alaskan miner's beard with ice, or at least cold enough to freeze water, not just chilly enough to wear a sweater as many of you Australians seem to define it as.

Well, it feels far closer to ice at this temperature than the usual average for June so I'll call it icy. It's actually 42°F here, not even that far from freezing really, and with the wind it absolutely feels icy cold. It is absolutely freezing, and I have a splitting headache now because of this, I wouldn't in winter but because I have got used to warmer weather now it is damaging to me, and makes me feel very ill. Very depressing and terrible for me and joyless going outside. Can't go out dressed in my indoor clothing to enjoy the flowers, scenic views now all hidden in fog, can't enjoy the smells of spring with the birds and the bees or the sweet soft mild air of late spring, the coldness is like daggers infiltrating the core of my being, with the added depression of torpid gloom and a chilling wind. Dark, cold and evil like an oppressive demon bearing down over the nation.

.
Given that this is the unhappy thread, it is my prerogative to sound off about how awful and unacceptable this weather is for the time of year, without people jumping in to try and tell us how good they think it is. Go and exclaim that in the happy thread if you think its so fine!

Highest happened at midnight when it was 8.8°C, but it hasn't been above 7°C during daylight hours! Horrendous and downright wrong LOL. Too cold even to bother put the bin out.

Unhappy the low rainfall lately has left the tanks almost empty. Hopefully the up to 80/ 3 inches mm of rain forecast for tomorrow should remedy that.

Unhappy I got soaked in 50 something degree weather. Fingertips felt almostly slightly numb.

Interesting sky before it rained.
