Thanks for sharing the temps, Granite! Going to be a chilly one tonight, too, its very clear right now and clear means lower overnight temps.
Its o.k. though because the daytime highs are perfect, high 60's or low 70's. We warmed up fast today even though we were in the low 40's! Never reached 70 but great sunshine all day!

It was great here in NH too. The temperatures were in the low 70s with dewpoints in the 40s. The low here will be 42F with frost possible up in the northern river valleys of the state.
I see it's warmer northward across the border in Manitoba and Ontario. Currently it's 84F in Churchill Manitoba which is 650+ miles north of the Minnesota border.
I bet everyone up there is enjoying those crisp temperatures.
As typical, I see where those frost advisories have moved eastward into parts of the northeast... Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, upstate New York. Seems like it always hits that area a day or two later.
Upper 20s in August even that far north seems amazing to me. Do those upper 20s damage the leaves on the trees, or are most up there evergreens? I guess that may also mean not much mowing of the grass either?
I know down here when we finally get our first frost/freeze, which is typically late October, I feel a little sad. There is a different feel to everything and what seems to be officially the start of winter for me when everything starts to die off.
For now though, it was a balmy 65° here for a low last night, which is about average for us this time of year. It was "only" supposed to have been 70° for a high here today, but it got to 83°, which is normal for us this time of year. Showery now (with some stars peeping out), 70°, with a muggy dewpoint of 70°!
I agree! Have temps been ANY cooler than normal down your way in Houston?
Actually, here in Dallas, we have enjoyed some below average temps for late August. We have had temps in the high 80's and low 90's which is quite cool for August here. Usually, we don't see temps this cool till after Labor Day or late September/early October sometimes.
A tiny bit cooler, heat index's are in the low 90's instead of over 100, and I'll take any relief I can get!!!!!!!!
Many times valleys ( even very small ones) can be at least 5 degrees colder than a short distance away.
On my other farm ( in a small valley) I'd be scraping my windshield while the neighbor a half mile away had no frost.
Last Sept we had our first cold night but no frost.
One guy called the local radio station and reported frost. Two days later I drove by a nice corn field ( tall, deep green, big cobs) that sloped to a meadowand noticed the 4 rows that were in the low next to the meadow were gray.
People who ride mororcycles can attest to the drop in temp as they go through a low area at might.
Tennessee, I'm not enjoying them. I'd like to have a bit of warmth before summer is totally over. We've had a very cool summer so I'd go for some REAL July weather before winter hits.
Granite, thank you for listing those. All I can say is, "BRRRR!"
