Hey all,
I am wondering if anyone has had any frost so far this autumn season. If so, when was your first occurrence of frost this year? For the folks in the Southern Hemisphere, when was your first/last occurrence of frost last winter. If you typically are frost-free, I'd be interested in hearing about that as well
Here in Vancouver, we haven't gotten our first frost yet. It probably will arrive in the next few weeks. I've been hearing reports from a few different sources that this year is going to be one of the coldest and snowiest winters in the PNW... I certainly hope not

I'm not sure. I'm thinking it was this past Sunday (10/10) but there may have been some frost last week. I can certainly confirm that there was frost today.

I was born and raised in Montana, my folks still live in Helena (the capital). They had their first freeze last night, interestingly enough (temp went down to 29 F there!).

Here in Portland, TX., if we see a freeze at all, it usually won't happen until late December.

Probably Sunday morning, same as ilovemycomputer90 (we seem to get the same weather). It didn't seem like a killing frost. Hard to tell. One station nearby reported 28°F, but briefly. Some others were just around freezing but they were unofficial.

If I was back in Long Island, we wouldn't get a frost until early to mid November. Went down to 43°F there (was told it was a cold night down there)

At the airport the first frost was on April 8. The last frost was just a couple of days ago and there may be more to come. There have been 43 frosts so far this year.

The coast is much milder -- there were only two frosts this year. These occured on consecutive July days: -1.1 C on the 11th and -0.9 C on the 12th.

Is that a normal time for a first frost?
It sounds similar to Toronto's average first frost date of Oct 9th.
Surprises me, since our winters are comparatively "very-severe."

Cool FROSTLESS so far!

Parts of the Toronto area had the first frost this morning,
yet my neighbourhood was unscathed.

Still too cold walking to my car this morning,
but at least it was 1-2 C and all the parked cars outdoors had windows that were fogged, not frosted.

Since we missed this one,
I suspect the first frost in my neighbourhood will arrive within 5-10 days.
Patterns too mild with the rain we are now getting for a risk of frost.

Probably not, given that the mean low is about 9 C in early April.

How far is the airport from the coast? It must be quite far inland.. quite a big discrepancy between 43 frosts versus 2 frosts.
