I searched this question and nothing came up, so...I am just wondering. Ok, it is 106 here right now and my AC is set at 83. Feeling a bit warm. Have not gotten a full months electric bill running the air yet and I am a bit worried...
How 'bout you?
During the day, 83. During the night, 87. Around 70 during the winter, the few times we use it.

Just got my bill Would you believe $497.43? Thats with it set at 83 during the day!
I don't even want to see ours then. I'll probably need to have my husband sitting down with a cool glass of ice water....
We have two thermostats and two air conditioning units. We have turned off the unit for up stairs (luckly the master is on the 1st floor) and are doing everything I can think of to conserve electricity. Next bill I'm cringing about seeing is the water bill. We are having to water the lawn every 3 days just to keep it alive. HOA already sent one nasty-gram about it. Ya would think they would realize we are in a drought
Oh, my gosh! I'd be in a world of hurt trying to pay a bill that high! ILNC mine doesn't have 2 either but it is a small story and a half, not a true 2 story.
My sister in the UP has 2 thermos but she has hot water heat and can't do central air.
I could probably learn to live with very-high indoor temps.
89 F could be "liveable" for me indoors, if I needed to save money.
I'd suspect you bill is probably high because you insulation isn't very good, and/or your roof is dark in colour.
I like some of the Australian homes I've seen pictures of,
with very-light grey rooftops;
just barely enough grey that they aren't blinding to look at.
Mine is usually set at 73-76 during the summer and between 60-64 during the winter. My last electric bill was $80.00.
