What do we all think the summer will be like in places this year?

I personally think the north east and south will see a very hot summer going on what pattern they have had during this spring. I would expect NY, Philly, Atlanta and DC to hit at least 100 this year and boston to get up in the 90's!!

I think Texas will be cooler than last summer.

I also think the whole west will have a collet summer and also the great lakes, including Chicago!

What is your opinion?

What's a "Collet" Summer? Some phenomenon I'm unaware of?

In England I think June is going to be warmer than average and dry. July+August is a bit too far out to call.

I have a feeling the summer this year here is going to be a dud... already it's the end of May and we haven't even cracked 70F yet this year!!

Evidently, you haven't read the latest Almanac for 2010. Much of Texas is expected to have warmer than normal temperatures and drier than usual conditions. We will likely have more ozone days as well as fire dangers to be expected. In looking at it, we might be making a run at the 1980 records, and that was one hot summer!

Well you did have record heat last summer though
Last summer was kinda lousy for us in Toronto; fairly cool and wet.

No days reaching 70 F in 2010?
Wow, it still hasn't warmed up at all since my visit.

I'm anticipating a summer that is 2-3 F warmer than average and slightly drier than average... Should be great.

Hot days? We might get a dozen this year. (we had none last year )

Actually most of the time, the bolded city hits 100 every year because of the heat waves.

Seeing as we had an early Spring with nice temps, I'm thinking our Summer will be on the warm side.

However, warm would mean high 80's, maybe a 90 or two, no big deal, give people something to talk about, weather is a major topic here as it is so changeable.
