coldest temp I experienced when I was actually old enough to appreciate it was -3.5ºC in my backyard in August 2005. Seeing puddles of water frozen solid and the hundreds of beads of frozen dew on my canvas awning was quite a novelty. I don't think it has gotten below 0ºC here since then.

Coldest I've seen it is Lake Wales, FL was 18°F in 1989. Many citrus groves were killed.

The coldest I've ever experienced was -2F. BUT the most miserable was the morning an ice storm hit and my boss called and said I had to come in. Unfortunately, my windshield wipers were broken and I didn't have the money to have them fixed. So that morning I had to go out on the roads with the ice still coming down. I would drive about 100 feet, pull over wipe the ice off, drive 100 feet, etc. I think it took 1 1/2 hours to drive a 15 minute trip. Thirty minutes after I got in, the same manager closed the office because the roads were "getting unsafe". The drive home took 2 1/2 hours! I was so glad when I found another job.

I don't know exactly. It's been in the negatives here. I do know that I've had more than my fill of cold weather.

Coldest was +4F on a camping trip last year. Very cold morning but I slept well that night in my tent.
