Yep i think its millibars, when they drop low it means the storm get more intensified.

I know NZ is no stranger to storms but these two are a bit thick even by "roaring 40's" standards. Hunker down and take care.....Thanks for the updates, FV.
I havn't had a chance to look over the models myself but it does seem to be that way, and to have two of these storms in winter is somewhat rare.
