My outdoor temp sensor on my AC unit said 27F, weather station that is probably too close to the house is 29F. First freeze of the season...
Some areas of Toronto experienced their first frost this morning, but none here so far it seems. Eggplants, peppers, zucchini, tomatoes, okra, etc are still alive. It does seem like we will get frost tonight however.
It got down to freezing for the first time at Pearson and first below normal low since August 15 (it got to 13 when it's normally 14)
Did you see evidence of freezing on the plants in your garden/neighbourhood? I'd assume Etobicoke would be a bit more protected from frost although I guess it would depend on the neighbourhood.
I turned on the heat today for the first time since April (I do like my house on the warm side, without heating the room temp was around 67 degrees which is too chilly for my taste).

Most flowers are dead. But there are a few are still alive. Nobody is gardening at this time late in the season. Etobicoke does have a station, it's located in Centennial Park, but it's temperatures are not higher than Pearson airport, so I would say no.

I'm not really gardening anymore either, but my annuals flowers and vegetables are still out in the garden. No reason to take them out if they're still alive. Heleniums, nasturtiums and marigolds are still flowering. Frost sensitive vegetables are still alive too (except watermelon) although they range from looking quite rough (malabar spinach) to just as healthy as in the summer (New Zealand spinach).
Centennial Park is quite close to the airport so that makes sense. I could imagine areas closer to the Humber River or Lake Ontario being a touch different though.
Even if you're in Clearwater, St Pete, or Sarasota looks like an inch of rain followed by perfect highs in the 70s/lows in the upper 50s weather. Nothing to complain about.
Elsewhere, a few freezes east of the Great Lakes, but as Rod Stewart would say "tonight's the night" for New England and much of the Northeast except along the coast.
Hope i get 3". I had around 7" one Nov back around 2014 or 15 i think. 86f in Tampa today.
