After missing the worst of it the last three times there was no escaping the atmospheric river for us in Victoria today. What a soaker. Second-wettest October day on record.

When i told ya months ago you would have a wet fall i was not joking. A insane 74f here this AM. Just no cool weather at all this month. I now count Oct as a summer month as the last 10 falls have been so hot.
Indianapolis is up to the 4th wettest October on record after the rain yesterday. If we get all the rain they are calling for today, we could move to the 3rd wettest October but it doesn't look like it will move higher than that. The cooler weather has brought down our average temp for the month. At the beginning of the week, we were looking at the warmest October ever. The cool weather this week has brought us down into a tie for 7th warmest October currently.
Waiting for a freeze in southern Indiana next week, hopefully it will materialize, the coldest it has been is 36F so far this season. Average first freeze in my area is the third week of October. Any Louisville data is 0% applicable for here regarding that.

You don't need to be a rocket scientist to predict it will rain here in the autumn.
Anyway, drying out here for the weekend. Remnants of yesterday's system now inland causing the first real snow of the year in Southern Alberta. Calgary could get 5-10 cm.
Substantially cooler and blustery behind the front that came thru Wednesday. Had a high of 67F yesterday with wind gusts nearly 40 mph. Didn't cool down much last night due to cloud cover (low was 56F). High today is 65F.
Didn't get anything too severe locally with Wednesday's storms ahead of frontal passage. Tornadoes struck in SW Louisiana and SE Texas. A damaging tornado hit Lake Charles.
Got some beneficial rainfall as it's been dry the past few weeks along with the warmth (I had gone 3 weeks with less than half an inch of rain). I got 0.64 with Wednesday's storms and the airport received over an inch.
