Gonna be in the mid 80’s today, too warm for October. Summer like warmth until at least the middle of the month. Lows barely getting below 60. Might be record warm October.
A low of 56F here after a warmer than average September. I don't expect any freeze potential until the end of October at the very earliest, looking at model trends. The massive height anomalies are going to take quite awhile to break down in Canada and the northern plains.
A drop in the bucket in the West after how many months this year of record or near record warm temperatures?
True but still this is a big pattern change with some significant rain and mountain snow which is a welcome sign out west. Let's see if it actually lasts though and not just a short blip.
Not bad here for the first day of October. High was 84F here 86F at MDW and 85F at O'Hare
