I posted this in the La Nina thread.... It's fresh off the new ECMWF long range. Looks like it has a dominant Southeast Ridge torching the entire eastern two thirds. But I'm not losing hope yet. These models always seem to torch the east in the winter but miss the teleconnections of -NAO and -AO
Could be, or you could throw out all the models past the medium range as the 18Z GFS just reversed itself again. October has notoriously poor model continuity between runs during seasonal transition periods. Models start to converge a bit more by late November into December once a more established winter pattern starts to take over.
That middle map is weird, surely it was higher than 60s Monday afternoon in all of TX, LA, Fl.
It was around 70 today here in D.C...according to that map we were in the 50s? Not sure what that map displays but it sure as hell isn't the observed afternoon temperatures on Monday October 5th.
Models are struggling with the West Coast oscillation in the PNA index as the American tries out cooler routes for middle October and the European keeps a warmer lean going more consistently.

It was 84 F in Houston and 65 F in NYC yesterday. That map is way off from the actual temperature readings.
Maybe it was talking about low temps, but I highly doubt Colorado sees 80 F lows in October .
Someone must have screwed up the temperature map on that graphic.
I also find it funny that Tropical storm Delta passes over Atlanta. Oh the irony . I frequently fly delta and Atlanta is the hub I typically need to go through if I’m traveling to anywhere in central or South America.
Seasonal here, mostly around 20-21c most afternoons these days, and the lows are around 10c, occasionaly below. Mostly partly cloudy, kinda dull but with interesting skies, we had an amazing rainbow on sunday after a rainy spell. This is the season with the most beautiful sunsets when the weather is unsettled.
Also it's pretty dry with dps below 10c for once. Nice.
Next week looks like it's gonna be more like 8/16c with rain in the forecast. We'll see.
