Downtown El Paso Snow.
Some places near El Paso have already seen more snow than Philadelphia saw all last season.

Sun came out for a little while today but it was generally cloudy. Reached a high of 57 F/14 C.

NWS issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the possibility of heavy rain and flash flooding Thursday and Friday. First flakes of the season may fly Friday as well.

High was just 39F here 38F at ORD and 37F at MDW and we had snow showers again today. Even some accumulation on my truck windshield. Our monthly mean is now down to +0.3F at ORD not including today's temps which were 13 degrees below normal.

That is when the AO and NAO start to turn negative with the positive PNA.
There will be a warmer period in the 6-10 according to the GEFS but the latest run shows cold air returning in the same area it's in now by days 11-15

Never thought I'd be jealous of my old residence in Austin TX on an October day. High today was 43 there. Normal is about 77.

I will have to avg the figs, but it looks like this OCT will win as the hottest ever for my area or really most all of FL.
The 70s were for Cedar Key, not Tampa. Tampa was at low 80s for Friday, which they still are

Look at just how cold it's been over the last 5 days for the inter mountain, central and southern US. Incredible

https://twitter.com/Skilling/status/...983391747?s=20

Temps moderate for a few days towards the middle and end of next week but the GFS shows a return to below normal thereafter.

Averages for Oct 28th at ORD 58/39F. On Nov 5th it's 53/47F, and by Nov 12th it's down to 50/34F
