Wait, what do you mean is the difference? In the second scenario, during which time is the low? I perefer when it's just as warm in the morning as in the evening and day, as long as it's not above 25'C in the evening.

The low would be happening throughout the day. No specific time. Just wanna know if you like it cooler in the morning or feel temp drop throughout the day. Sounds like you prefer no day drop.
I definitely prefer a morning low. Certain cases I like when it drops throughout the day (like today), mainly because it was so warm this morning - but overall morning low.
When the temperature rises in the night is the absolute worst though.
It really depends on the seasons I guess. In summer, I prefer temperatures dramatically dropping by the evening, and in winter I like to experience the coldest mornings.
Btw, I didn't expect a thread like this from you. =)
Even the diurnal range is extremely smaller, I prefer to see the daily lowest temp in after the midnight or around sunrise time. It’s very annoying when the daily high/low temps got interfered and happen unusual timing of the day due to a strong cold front or an ocean current controlling over weak level of sunlight. That’s one thing I don’t like about the high latitude oceanic climate’s winter temps pattern.
For the most part I like the coldest temperatures to be in the morning, but I do like a temperature drop during the day sometimes. For example, on January 6, 2014, it was 61F (16 C) at 6 am, fell into the mid-40s (7-8 C) during the day, and was below freezing by 8 pm. That sort of weather is fun from time to time, but I don't want it more than a few times per winter.
When you say "rarely" does that mean it happens once in a blue moon? Do you like when it does? Interesting about the warmest temp.

That's a big drop! I wasn't even thinking that extreme..
If this front on Thursday would slow down by 12 hrs we would of seen something similar but more like 50s to 30s Friday.
Here's Philly's hourly forecast... 44° at 5am Friday, 36° by 8pm.
Our lows this Friday will come after 5pm for most of the region. (Probably be just before midnight)
