9 Degree Drop in 1 hour and a wind shift. Hello Front.
About 3/4" of rain so far still raining
It was pretty sudden when it passed as I was driving too yesterday, but the nearby stations didn't capture it that well. The closest station was still 10-25 miles from where I was driving. I was going west against the front and it went from 70F at 1pm, to 57F and raining around 1:30pm, but then back up to 70F behind the front due to a lack of clouds and the sun still being strong at 2-3pm, and then finally cooling to about 65F by 4-5pm.
Hourly readings at the closest station
Barrie-Oro
1pm: 69.1F 13mph SW (210deg)
2pm: 62.1F 6mph SW (240deg)
3pm: 65.4F 11mph W
4pm: 67.3F 12mph W
Day drop by a long shot - morning lows are boring anti-weather.
It's very common in the winter and spring here for the temperature to drop throughout the day with the passage of a frontal airmass, but can occur in any month of the year. Either an abrupt, sudden change where the front announces its arrival with ominous black cloud, heavy rain and strong wind (as sharp a drop as 10 C in 30 minutes, particularly in mid/late spring and summer) - or less commonly, where the cold air slowly filters through (clear/sunny with scattered fractus cloud and sharply diminishing dew points). The latter is a very pleasant condition, especially after a hot day.

Look at Missouri! 70s to 40s
This is a very potent drop! Even Texas is expecting the 20s around Halloween.
