Todays Min - Max temps

Buffalo/Niagra Falls had the hottest temp on that map? What the hell is going on? Thursday cannot come fast enough

Whoa. Didnt realize that. Nuts. Here's sorted by max temps in NY. Niagra Falls wins. I tell you, this might spell craziness for Lake Effect Snows come November.

Air = current temp

3 day rainfall forecast. I wouldn't be surprised to see flooding around the Texas/Mexico border. Heavy rainfall from Maria just offshore.

Only 0.09" of rainfall here this September. If we don't get any more by the end of the month, this would be the 2nd driest September on record. Sept 2010 was the driest with 0.07". I only had 0.03" for the month in my gauge.

And heres the Upper Heights and anomaly. Someone flip the Jet Stream around and lock it. Lol

If it wasnt for the trough and front coming in Maria would of hit the U.S for sure.
neat to see the hurricane; positive temperature anomaly; but negative height anomaly [though not quite a fair comparison — 2 different heights].

Max of 91°F at 3 pm with a dewpoint of 68°F, just over 80°F at sunset. Down to 73°F, rather fast cool down given that sunset is so earlier. But the dewpoint is 69°F so it's not cooler any further. I don't think we got a humid stretch for as long as this the whole summer. Really weird heat wave. Fast cool down common for late season heatwaves, but they're not normally that humid.

Looks like Burlington is today's New England heat champ but Niagara the overall Northeast winner. Anything hotter on the Ontario side? I got no A/C, felt really hot cooking by the stove. Cold shower coming. might feel much better afterward. What a strange month, there was patchy frost at the beginning of the month and lots of nights I closed my windows. And now... pattern to be return! Can't be as hot given the climate normals start to decline fast

fall foliage is stalled, even the northern mountains except for a sliver of the Adirondacks are stuck on moderate foliage.

These very warm temperatures will hold for much of this week, with relief coming next weekend. As a result of the high temperatures (and warm overnight temps), there has not been much color progression since the last report. Expect limited color change this week as well.

https://www.foliagenetwork.com/index...-report-7-2017

a couple weeks ago, it felt like the foliage was running early with hints of color in the hills. Speaking of northern mountains, Mt. Washington is a refreshing 57°F. Stagnant under the high pressure with 2 mph winds. Dews stayed below 60°F all day with relative humidity kinda high

We're a bit parched here too. About 3" below norm now I think. Funny, dry ground enhanced the temps, hot temps enhances the dry ground. I miss the rain, maybe wet pattern comes back for winter.

I admit, its impressive. Just as impressive as the near record cold 1st 2 weeks. What an interesting, but even, month. I havent checked departures but I wouldnt be surprised if we're above normal now

Definitely cool to see the height & temp differences.

I noticed shade at 4pm in an area I dont usually get it in summer afternoon. Lower sun angle now. Felt and looked weird with the heat
