Currently March Average temp is colder than this past February, January, December, and November in Hartford.. The Last time March was colder than all 4 months prior was.... NEVER!! (Since 1906)

Avg Temps:

March 2017: 31.8° (as of 21st)
February 2017: 34.3°
January 2017: 32.7°
December 2016: 32.1°
November 2016: 43.8°
I'm guessing this won't hold up by the end of the month. With the warmer week forecasted ahead, the average is going to go past December's.

We've had 10 days in the 80s so far this year. The average to date is 2 and the previous record is 7, set in 1916, 1911, and 1910. We have a couple more shots at 80s on Thursday and Sunday.
Thursday night and Sunday have a chance of thunderstorms as well.
We could be done with freezes for the year. If so, the last freeze would be March 15, which is earlier than normal but not super unusual. What's sort of strange is in 2012 we had the third earliest latest freeze on record (March 4), and in 2013 we had the third latest freeze on record (April 24).

25 with a dew of 3 and brilliant sunshine. Not a cloud to be seen. This is a bad month for temps, but it is the best March I can remember for sunshine. It almost makes up for all the cold, as the sun makes it rather pleasant. It felt chilly, but very nice on my run today. The high seems like it will be 33 at midnight and the low so far is 19.

March is currently averaging 29.4 which is 3.1 degrees below average. Only good for 26th coldest out of 145. The snowfall is more noteworthy, as March 2017 is currently the 11th snowiest March with 32.8" so far.

Average temps for winter 2016-2017, ordered from coldest to warmest:
1. March: 29.4
2. December: 31.3
3. January: 31.4
4. February: 35.5
5. November: 45.1

1932 and 1960 were the only other years with March as the coldest month.

Nice stats! 1960 came up for NYC as well. Must of been some bloom damage that year in the region.

And speaking of dews..

Remember this map because in 3-4 months we will be oppressively muggy with dews in the 60s and temps in the 70s/80s!

Yeah, doubt will be colder than Jan or Dec. Be interesting to see final results. Today should drop it a bit more

Hard to believe that this March is only 2/3 of the way over. Feels like it's been going on forever. I notice that cold months always seem like they never end, brings back memories of 2015 where both February and March seemed to drag on for absolute ages
