You picked a spot right near the border. Remember things don't stay still, it will fluctuate back and forth so Nova Scotia is on that line between the Ridge and the Trough. But we have to take into account the cold waters surrounding them though..

Here's Gander in Newfoundland per Euro. 50s and 60s. That's warm and dry for them this time of year. GooseEggs in the precip column after tonight. Look at the heights coming 570s! Yikes at -54N.

Euro12z Hour120 (Sunday). 500mb height anomaly

Snowflakes for the Adirondacks in NY???

The potential exists for some very unusual highs in the 50s in the Deep South on Friday:

The lowest high temperature recorded in May at my location is 56 degrees; it's not out of the question that that record could be threatened by this upcoming weather.

Those are insane highs. 40s in North GA/AL and in TN? I bet an outside chance of snow is possible in higher elevations too.

Well, they're not necessarily the absolute maximum temperatures, but they're pretty close. Nashville's current forecast high is around 54 degrees, while Atlanta's is 58. The exact placement of the weather system will have a huge impact on the actual high temperatures of any particular location, so nothing is set in stone.

True, although those are still some very chilly highs for May, and usually a few days out of a cold snap forecasts are pretty conservative.

Haha. GFS picking up snowflakes in the Blue Ridge mountains Sunday. Adirondacks Monday. And Berks/Greens Tuesday.

Temps at 5000' supportive of it. You rarely see below freezing temps at this level in May. Normal is +11C in Greensboro! WOW!
DC is +8C!
This is pretty damn cold airmass for May
