You think a diff of 175 hours is "massive"? Averages out to less than .5 hours per day. We have already covered this topic in the diff sunshine measuring methods.
for a short distance yes ,unless the stations are miles apart
It's the time of the year where warm weather waves can miss us. I saw reports of a severe thunderstorm further west; very not thunderstorm-y weather today — mid 50s and gloomy.
An intense thunderstorm just passed over us. About 0.75" has fallen today and it has rained pretty much non stop. Know what the high was supposed to be? 82....and what was it actually? 70. That seriously happened I'm seeing nothing but 50s and rain in the forecast and models are showing cold for the month. Could this join the very short list of 80-less mays? Or be another month to have a colder record high than the one before? Or another spring month colder than the previous one? Or another top 5 wettest month? Anyway, the first half of May looks like absolute s***. BTW, forecasters were f*cking 15% too low on the high today. At least there's a nice thunderstorm...
We won't have to worry about cool weather for long because we're going right from 60s to 80s/90s. Yup, looks like June will be above average for the 7th year in a row in Mid-Atlantic / Northeast. Why does this Bermuda high always start at the end of may until October? The coast is especially gonna get blasted.
Somehow we'll manage to get a wet and muggy as **** June too, which is pretty impressive because of how high the sun angle is that month. Just terrific.

83 F with a 69 F dew point right now, dark clouds building up everywhere and sprinkling down right now. Hearing thunder in the vicinity as well.
High hit 86 F today and the dew point was 70 F at the time, creating a heat index of 91 F.
