Ithaca station is a bit away from the lake I think. At about 1000 feet? Binghamton's station is even higher at 1500 feet.

I posted this animation of the temps at the mid levels (850mb). Was funny seeing that level fluctuate like that from +20C down to +10C back up to +20C in 12hr periods in the SW.
Lol, those aren't midlevels there, that level is underground

Hard to focus on 1 area but the most interesting thing aside from the cold Arctic air digging into the Northeast is the Omega Block setup and how it came about.

Watch the Cut Off low come from the Pacific, it comes across the U.S then gets absorbed into a building ridge in Eastern U.S. At the same time a trough digs down the Atlantic Ocean and an Upper Low forms in the Atlantic all while an Upper Low also drops down Western U.S and hovers over Colorado. The "pattern" gets stuck for a few days. Pretty cool to see the evolution of that.
Neat animation. Looks like we were in a cold pattern until about a week ago and it slowly broke down.

lol. good one. Tunnel levels?

Current temps and Upper Level flow. Well look at that... a Ridge in the East... 70s to Maine and Montreal.

And a Ridge over the Rockies.

Looks like overcast conditions about to enter this area tonight. It was a good run. 9 Straight days of sun.

90 in Vegas

Liousiana with storms and heavy rains. Alexandria I think missed out.

Wish I was in Nagagami Canada.

Alexandria got the northern end of that line of storms. I saw C-G lightning as I was driving home from work. Looks like I received a little over a quarter an inch in gauge and still some light to moderate rain falling.

We got more yesterday. I received 1.10 and the airport recorded 1.54 inches.

High Temperatures of Africa

Rasht being tied with Abadan as the warmest city in Iran today, not something you see very often.

69 F/21 C with a dewpoint of 44 F/7 C (41% humidity). Feels noticeably more humid after the bone dry weather we've been having. Kind of a nice refreshing change.

Interesting you said that. I was pulling weeds and after 30 minutes felt a little uncomfortable plus felt sweaty. I just knew it was more humid but didnt check.
