This cold and snow this early in the Season has got to be truly epic, if not unprecedented lol. Meanwhile here in Central Indiana, the last few days have felt more like a typical July day rather than early October. It hit 86 at the airport and 85 on the northwest side(Eagle Creek airpark), a pullback in temperatures tomorrow and Friday before the 80’s return for this weekend through the first half of next week; thus far, this could be the warmest first week of October since 2010. I’m not complaining though, come late January or early February, the summer like weather of October 2018 will be but a distant memory.
Every other time I see these posts about exceptional snowfalls, the more incentive I have to relocate to a warmer climate. I hope that I am able to relocate to Texas before hell freezes over.
I forgot to check the CoCo site! Here are snowfall totals other than the main airports. Keep in mind it's only a 24hr snow total. See post after this for another way to view.
New snow is the total snow reported this month.
Total Snow is the snowfall on the ground at the time of the report.
For instance.. Location at Cochrane 20.4 NE (you can view map to see exactly where it is) has gotten 8 inches of snow this month so far which melted to 0.50" liquid. That's 16:1 ratios! Fluff stuff! and there was 10 inches on the ground at the time of the report on the 3rd.
Okotoks gotta be an error so ignore that. I'll send them a note. Unless its in the mountains?

Didn't know about that site--thanks for the link!
Okotoks is about 40 km south of Calgary on the edge of the foothills, definitely not in the mountains. That has to be a mistake.

Thanks for the Okotoks info. I sent them a message. Probably just a simple typo.
You should join the CoCoraHS network. They are always looking for new stations and OBS from honest people. Nice to fill in the map. They been growing fast lately! I joined in 2014. Wish I did in the 1990s. Nice to look back at my own data and logs but its nice that I help NWS and other sources see more data from new areas.
Contact a coordinator to see how to get started. info@cocorahs.org or Canada@cocorahs.org. Tell them a Connecticut, US observer led you onto them.
Send me PMs if you have questions.
