From what I've seen, thunderstorms on the high plains and Rockies feel very different than thunderstorms back east. Much higher lightning to rain ratio, rainfall totals aren't as high and dew points are lower. Cloud patterns look lower, too.

New England mountains are more humid than the rockies but much less thunderstorm prone, which is a bit surprising to me at least at first. I wonder what mountains in Florida would have?

Yeah that's true....I was speaking more on the frequency that they've been getting storms. Do thunderstorm in the White Mountains get lots of lightning?

I would imagine if Florida had mountains the thunderstorms would be very impressive due to orographic lift?

Current radar, upper level flow, and Infrared Satellite. Farms in Iowa getting some nice rains this morning, heading to Minnesota/Wisconsin again.

Bermuda High in Atlantic so surface winds are from the Ocean but upper level winds are from the north(over the Atlantic)

Did you guys ever think you wouldn't see the Jet stream buckle in the West and Peak in the East ever again? lol
