Seems like Denver and Miami are having each other's weather. Has been really dry here.
From what I've seen, thunderstorms on the high plains and Rockies feel very different than thunderstorms back east. Much higher lightning to rain ratio, rainfall totals aren't as high and dew points are lower. Cloud patterns look lower, too.
New England mountains are more humid than the rockies but much less thunderstorm prone, which is a bit surprising to me at least at first. I wonder what mountains in Florida would have?

Yeah that's true....I was speaking more on the frequency that they've been getting storms. Do thunderstorm in the White Mountains get lots of lightning?
I would imagine if Florida had mountains the thunderstorms would be very impressive due to orographic lift?
