Yet another typical early evening thunderstorm here with some loud thunder.

People are complaining about how wet it's been here but it hasn't been that bad. It's not like Oregon where it rains literally all day.

Here it's usually just in late afternoon and evening which is pretty nice actually.

The mosquitoes are starting to be more than a rare occurence now, and it only gets worse from here .

The thunderstorm season is starting to kick on too, it feels like a tropical place here at this point.

I think they were first out in my yard in early or mid April.

That's when I saw the first one, it was tiny and the bite was small. They just now started to get bad though (first large bites Mid-May).

Anyway, here were today's U.S. highs, mostly 70s-90s with the exception of the Rockies, the Pacific, and some northern areas.
Also, look at the temperature jump between west and east Minnesota, huge!

Tomorrow is all (minus high elevation areas) 70's + except the pacific coast and rockies

With all that rain mosquitoes are going to be the size of birds in the Southern Plains this summer... And there will be swarms of them

Big question is how will the wet weather down there, effect my summer here in the Midwest?

We've had just a little bit above average rainfall for the month.... But it's been below average for months now.

850mb temps this evening & most of this week. Very warm northeast. Notice the wind direction from the south.

And then Sunday cold front and heres Mondays look. Single digits and below freezing (C°) in New England.
Most of the day will be in the 50sF° even here. Max temp in low 60s. Maybe snow above 3500 feet northern New England and Canada..

winds from the north.

5 days left in May. I'm ready to say what I said with the historic cold... Nobody alive today experienced a May this dry in so many areas of Northeast

Only 1 out of last 144 yrs had a drier May in NYC. (1903 with 0.30"). Currently 0.32".

Hartford (BDL) 0.60" is the driest May for Hartford area. . 110yrs

Concord 0.10" is driest on record. 112 yrs

Boston 0.31" is 2nd driest 142 yrs

Albany 0.31" is 2nd driest. 141 yrs

Bridgeport 0.50" 2nd driest

Maine in the Top 10
