Jet stream weakens and moves north with the seasons. Those warm water anomalies aren't going to have the same effect.

They seemed to impact us last summer.

March 2014 here was -4.6F below average. As of today, March 2015 is -4.6F below average. Last year April 2014 had 19 days below average, as of today March 2015 has 20 days below average. Maximum temp March 2014 was 69F while this month 68F. Min temp March 2014 was 12F, while this month 11F. Very similar months, and then April 2014 was also below average, though not by much. Wonder if this April will repeat last year.

For Philly. Since 2000 every April temps have gotten into the 80s. April 2014 Max temp was 82°F. That was actually the lowest since 2000 only getting to 77° that year in April. So it was the coldest April max in 14 yrs last yr.

Average temp Past 4 Aprils have been colder than the previous. But odds are very favorable for a "pop" up now. So I'm going to guess Average temp will be 55.4° April 2015 which is 1.4 above normal.

Lets come back to this post.

a bit late, but i found this interesting.

Grønland sender kulden til Danmark: DMI

South and West Greenland has since the New Year had almost continuous extreme cold.

Although Greenlanders are accustomed to the cold and snow, it has been worse than usual. In Nuuk talk about that it has been the worst winter in over 50 years with very low freezing temperatures, storms and lots of snow.

In Nuuk ended January with a mean temperature of -10.7 ° C; 3.3 ° C cooler than normal. February was even colder with a mean temperature of -11.6 ° C, 3.8 ° C colder than normal. And the first half of March has again been cold with an average temperature throughout -15.0 ° C, where the average for the whole of March is -8.0 ° C.

looks like the average is -11.6C in nuuk now, so still 3.6C below for march. impressive considering they use the 1961-1990 averages.

Cool look at who's above 70°F right now and who's below freezing. Whites = Sub Zero F°. Surface Temps.

I should change it to show 50F+?

Northern Europe looks cold. Not sure. Night time there.

Yep. And 90s in early April 2013. I remember that miserable event all too well.

I dislike April because you can pretty much guarantee it'll feature some excessive warm weather when you're ill-prepared for it.
