It's weird how much the last two winters have in common. Really warm Octobers followed by really cold Novembers followed by mild Decembers followed by a horrible January followed by an even worse February and March. Last year we ended spring on a really good note so Im hoping that we will get that again this year
The high today was 71F, closer to average than those 80sF we've been having. Also, TWC is forecasting a low of 36F next Sunday morning, if it continues to get lower then I will have to bring my Pineapple plant back inside.
Seems like it's the winter months that are making these past few years (in)famous, the summer months are right around average
For us that is true. The last couple of winters have been beast. June and August have been near average, but July was near record cool in 2014, and the last 10 days in of July in 2013 were the coolest 10 day period on record for the month of July in Chicago.
For us that is true. The last couple of winters have been beast
My parents had this really cool fig tree in the backyard that's been there since the 80s, and it just froze out last year. That just shows that this isn't normal what we're having the last two winters

Jeez Luis no wonder so many climatologists consider New York City to be Humid Subtropical in climate, i take it there have been other tender semi tropical plants that may have also been damaged by the past two back to back harsh winters in NYC.oh well, perhaps the next winter will be among the mildest on modern record for the eastern two thirds of the lower 48 states,at least one can dream can't I?
