NWS NY. I might not pass 50s today. ℉ I love how the wind picks up as the sun rises always fun to see.

ANY PATCHY STRATUS IS DECREASING WITH LIGHT AND VARIABLE WINDS
WITH SOME LOCATIONS ALREADY HAVING ONSHORE FLOW. SEA BREEZES WILL
BE LIKELY TODAY AND WILL LIMIT HIGHS ALONG THE COAST.

FOR HIGHS TODAY USED A BLEND OF MIXING DOWN FROM 950-925 HPA PER
BUFKIT SOUNDINGS...WITH NAM 2-METER TEMPERATURES AND A BLEND OF
MAV/MET GUIDANCE. LIMITED MIXING DUE TO SUBSIDENCE...PLUS ONSHORE
FLOW WILL KEEP TEMPERATURES COOLER THAN 850 TEMPERATURES AROUND
10C WOULD USUALLY IMPLY...WITH MID-UPPER 50S AT THE IMMEDIATE
COAST...AND GENERALLY LOW-MID 60S ELSEWHERE. HOWEVER...SHOULD SEE
SOME SCATTERED READINGS IN THE UPPER 60S ACROSS PORTIONS OF NE NJ
AND THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY.

Today Norway saw the first day of temperatures exceeding 20C this spring, recorded at ca 15 weather stations in the southern part of the country, including Oslo (Bygdøy 15m asl: 20.6C) and more surprisingly, Bergen (Florida 12m asl: 20.5C).
Warmest was Rygge - Huggenes (S of Oslo): 21.7C.
Weather forecast for Huggenes observation site, Rygge (Østfold) (statistics for today will not show before after midnight)

Kimito, some 40 km from here and warmest place yesterday recorded 20.4C this afternoon. So far looks like it was the only one, with many stations recorded in the 19.5C region.

Turku has a good chance to record 20C tomorrow.

Saint-Pétersbourg recorded 23C.

Yesterday was the first day to reach 20C for me, it went well above and reached 78F/25.6C. There are buds on most trees and even a few honey bees around, even though it reached -8C and snowed less than a week ago.

in the northern part of WI there is still snow cover, some areas more than a foot. And 1-2 feet of ice on lakes, though the ice is of poor quality by now.

4pm April 21st afternoon temps with the sun about same angle as August 28th. Still in 50s along CT & MA coasts & LI. 70s up to Great Lakes and Vermont. Love/Hate it here this is the love part with the cold water influence.

Close up.. Amazing gradient in Connecticut! Northern CT BDL, 70° Danbury 66°. Bridgeport 58°! Groton 52°.

My weather is always in between Danbury and Bridgeport. I thought I'd stay in the 50s today because I'm closer to the coast but I'm at 63°F. Short 1-2 hour drive north from the shore and you get hotter and hotter.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NEW YORK NY
357 PM EDT MON APR 21 2014

NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM TUESDAY MORNING/...

A TYPICAL SPRING SCENARIO FOR THE REGION LATE THIS AFTERNOON. WARMEST IN THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY WITH BOUNDARY LAYER MIXING ALLOWING DEWPOINTS TO BE IN THE TEENS. MEANWHILE SOUTHEAST CONNECTICUT IS THE COOLEST SPOT WITH A LIGHT ONSHORE BREEZE PROMOTING HIGHER DEWPOINTS IN THE LOWER 40S.

CLOUDS REMAIN MINIMAL INTO EARLY THIS EVENING AND THIS SHOULD CONTINUE THROUGH MUCH OF TONIGHT WITH THE RESIDUAL SUBSIDENCE OFTHE WEAKENING HIGH PRESSURE AREA.

RADIATIONAL COOLING WILL BE MORE OPTIMAL AND ACROSSEASTERN LONG ISLAND AND SOUTHEAST CONNECTICUT...WHERE DEWPOINTS WILL BE RELATIVELY HIGHER...SOME SHALLOW PATCHY GROUND FOG WILL DEVELOP IN THE COOLEST SPOTS.
