A sunny day until about 14:30 when clouds with a frontal system bringing rain.
Yuk what nasty sky. Much brighter and nicer here in England
yup it was very humid and hot this morning, with extensive smoke pollution. The temp at 6am was 27ºC / 80ºF, and you could smell the dampness in the air, which to me was a novelty as Melbourne's summer humidity is usually very low. Dewpoints were up to 20C / 68F this morning (normal summer dewpoints here are below 5C / 40F, and commonly below 0C / 32F). I got skirted by a thunderstorm around midday, had a short burst of heavy rain but that was it. This afternoon, we actually got extensive dust haze aswell in addition to the smog. During the afternoon, the humidity took a huge tumble, in 30 minutes, the dewpoint dropped from 20C / 68F to -1C / 30F. The temp reached 36ºC / 96F.
Several fires broke out in Melbourne, aswell as in Northern Victoria, where extreme heat and lightning strikes were the problem.
Overcast 19° F (-7° C) Might reach 30 today if the clouds move out!
