10 degrees is pleasant? Uh... What would unpleasant be?
10F IS pleasant with calm winds (for me). Even below zero is not bad with calm winds because you can dress for it in several layers. Now if the wind is blowing strongly that is much different It obviously feels more unpleasant.
So far it hasn't been so bad, Jammie. If we get the temp up to 35 like they originally predicted, we should be OK on this one. Yes, the ice is worse to drive on than snow, and we get more of that than snow usually.
It has also helped, I think, that we did have that 84 degrees on Sat. ( The weather people say that if the ground has been very warm previously, ice does not form as readily.)
Ditto what kaykay said. It's not that bad here. It is cold rain and ice, but the ground is so warm from Saturday's record high temps that it isn't forming ice on the streets. And the temp is predicted to get above freezing later, so it will be no big deal.
