At what point would you say it's starts to feel like an oven outside to you? Or do you never feel at warm. I've never been in a desert when it's above 100 so I wouldn't know. Although I'm going to be in El Paso in 2 weeks and that's basically a desert. Should be close to 100 there as well.
Once it hits 110 it gets a little too hot for me but the low 100's with low humidity feels great.
Once it gets to 115 it is really oven weather but that does not happen very often - maybe once or twice a year if that.
It also depends on what you are doing, running around doing errands - in and out of the car feels pretty hot over 100 but then a 110 degree day for a pool party is awesome.

Tonight on the news, the weatherman said we were 20 degrees below average for this time of year. Supposed to hit 70 by Friday and 80 by Sunday, so we'll be catching up soon. Who knows, maybe they'll open the city swimming pool next week. Only two weeks late. haha

20 degrees below average?!?!!?, that's the complete opposite of here, i wouldn't be surprised if it was 20 ABOVE average here
