I quit taking drugs that make you dizzy, I found that if you stand up fast enough, it has the same affect.

Upper level heights in the atmosphere look to be much above average in Alaska with that ridge in place. The downstream impacts of that ridge include much colder air for areas in southern and central areas of Canada as well as the northern US.
