Yes I have said before that I think you have a weird climate for the location. I wonder maybe if I was pushed out further into the Atlantic would I get air frosts in July?
The other night it was 5c at 11, we were going to hit 0c but it clouded over.

I don't think there is such a thing as a weird climate for it's location, just different climates.
Thanks. There are 39 air frosts here, and a coldest monthly minimum of 1.3, so probably too warm for even a short period with a freezing average minimum.
That's right on the coast though. Places inland from here and still at low altitude get around 70-80 air frosts a year, and 2-3 months of below freezing average lows.
Similar to here. There are 119 ground frosts on average, nd there are usually a few light ones during summer.
How can you grow citrus with all that frosts?
Do you also cultivate tropical fruits?

Nights can be frosty, but days are warm enough that citrus never stop growing.
Oranges, lemons, mandarins etc grow rapidly and crop heavily from year one. True grapefruit tends to have little flavour and sugar levels due to cool summers, so grapefruit substitutes are used instead.
No true tropical fruit that I can think of. Fruit like avocados, passionfruit, guava, paw paws, macadamias etc, are easy to grow and crop. There really a lot of those species that don't get mentioned on here, I'm actually off to pick up some sapote trees, later on today.
Bananas can produce fruit, in favourable years,....... in the right spot,..... with a bit of luck.
Reminds me of "embun upas" (ground frost) phenomenon in Dieng (7°S, 2000-2300m asl) every dry "winter" season (July-Aug/Sep), it can destroy the crops (potatoes), one of few frosty spots in our country in dry season
Never in city center of İzmit. I hate the climate of İzmit.
Average low in January is 3.3℃ in İzmit. Some days, temperature drop below freezing in winter.
