10"-12" (25-30 cm) forecast for tomorrow with snow and strong wind continuing through Sunday. I haven't looked at expected totals beyond tomorrow. Avalanche danger will increase rapidly as the day progresses.

thanks snowbound. this cold snap was perfect . low was 50f(10c) and highs have been in the 50s and 60s the last 2 days. yesterday was cold enough 2make it feel like winter and make it uncomfortable. while today was perfect futbol weather. enjoyed playing in the 18-20c temps with overcast skies and a nice mist like drizzle. enough to make everything nice and wet but not to soak the field, perfect for a physical game .

Only four of the past 143 years have logged as many or more 0-degree or lower days by Jan. 9 officially in Chicago

O'Hare dipped to -2F/-19C, but Midway stayed above zero, and 2F/-17C. Here in the south suburbs the low was 3F/-16C. but our northwest suburbs were much more frigid. Union is currently down to -16F/-27C. By this afternoon the front will have passed the Wisconsin state line, and we can say good bye to the Arctic air for a while

Yikes, Adi, 28 and not hat or gloves? It's 28F here and for the first time in weeks I went out without my Carhartt coveralls suit.

Cool pcs, all. Especially that guy on the Cub cadet. Wow.

Albany forecast (it's roughly five degrees cooler here)
