since Eureka is a research station, I also looked for real villages...

Coldest annual mean: Grise Fiord, -16.5°C (Eureka, -19,7°C)
Coldest coldest-month mean: Pond Inlet, -34.1°C; Grise Fiord, -34°C (Eureka, -38.4°C)

Coldest coldest-month average low: unsure: Taloyoak, -38°C; Pond Inlet, -37.5°C; (Eureka, -41.9°C)
Coldest warmest-month mean: Grise Fiord, 2°C
Coldest warmest-month average high: Grise Fiord, 4°C
Coldest warmest-month average low: Grise Fiord, 0°C
Lowest winter record high (meaning the coldest record high of the three winter months): Cambridge Bay, -9.4°C, February
Lowest summer record low: Hall Beach (-23.1°C, June)

since Eureka is a research station and Henderson Lake seems to be an uninhabited place, it'd be also nice to know, which are the driest and wettest inhabited places... I'll try to find out...

thnks ;-)... Your calculations are especially interesting compared to data from the period between 2002 and 2013, which I used recently to create a climate chart of the last decade for Karesuando:

Karesuando, 2002-2013:

Jan -13.8
Feb -14.1
March -8.4
April -1.3
May 4.9
June 10.5
July 14.0
Aug 11.6
Sep 5.8
Oct -1.0
Nov -7.8
Dec -11.5

So, in fact all months got warmer, except for the decrease in february... and October stayed pretty much same.

A few corrections:
1) The highest humidex on record occurred at Castlegar, BC on July 14th, 1961: 53.4
2) Stewart, BC gets less sunshine than Prince Rupert. Way less. They get 984.1 hours/year.
3) Not really a correction, but I think the highest max for the warmest month is debateable. It's either Osoyoos, Spences Bridge, Ashcrof t, or Oliver, but since each station covers different time periods, it's pretty tough to tell between them.

Thanks for the corrections Now I know. I had thought about Grise Fiord being the coldest permanently inhabited village but I can't seem to find the weather station on Environment Canada's site
I'm quite surprised that Castlegar would have the highest humidex in the country as it is in a part of the country that usually doesn't get humid weather compared with Southern Ontario or the prairies. Also, the wiki pages of Castlegar, BC and Carman, MB both claim to have the highest humidex in Canada so that certainly needs to be changed

Grise Fiord doesn't have enough climate data to make a climate normal.

As for Castlegar, it is in the world's only interior temperate rainforest, so the temperature can get quite hot and humid relative to the rest of BC.

As far as I understand, they always said that Windsor held the record for the highest humidex of any MAJOR Canadian city, and not the record for all of Canada. When the Manitoba record occurred, the media changed wording of the Windsor record from MAJOR city record to Canadian record.

BTW, Ocean Falls, BC used to considered Canada's wettest inhabited place at 4500 mm/year, but it is pretty much a ghost town these days. Tahsis Village, and a few other places pretty much that wet as well.

I know that this will be very hard and the aim is certainly not to achieve completeness, but nonetheless i still think we could try to find as many locations as possible.... so what do i mean by "climate" and by "warmest" and "coldest"...? By saying "climate" I actually mean ensured data of an inhabited place in a country. This can be a big city or a 10-person hamlet, but it has to be inhabited year-round and it shouldn't be some kind of research station or something like that. The definition of warmest and coldest varies pretty heavily and so i think that it would be good to collect as many "warmest" and "coldest" location as we can find by considering different aspects... The most obvious criteria would certainly be the average year temperature, but I think it would be almost better to look also at the average (high) temperatures of the warmest months and the average (high) temperatures of the coldest months... So, maybe this is a stupid idea cause it's definetely very complex, but since I already looked for some data, I'll be satisfied to share it with you and I at least invite you to share your knowledge about the coldest and warmest places of a specific country with us, or if you're in the mood even do some research on it...

So, what i found until now is basically this (of course the period, in which the data was observed, has to be stated):

Warmest annual mean temperature:
United Kingdom: Isles of Scilly (12.0°C, 81-10)

Coldest annual mean temperature:

Warmest average temperature in the warmest month:

Austria: Vienna (21.7°C, 1971-2000)... but since that is maybe due to inner-city-warming-effect, I also looked for the second warmest, which is Neusiedl (20.4°C, 71-00)
France unsure data: Marseille (24.8°C)
Germany: Karlsruhe (20.6°C, 81-10)
Iceland: Kirkjubæjarklaustur (11.2°C, 61-90)
Norway: Oslo and Tönsberg (17.3°C, 61-90)
Sweden: Stockholm and Eskilstuna (17.2°C, 61-90)
Switzerland: Lugano (22.1°C, 81-10)
United Kingdom: London (Heathrow) (18.7°C, 81-10)
United States of America: -

Warmest average max temperature in the warmest month:

Austria: Vienna (26.7°C, 71-00) ... same as above: Neusield and Bruckneudorf (26.3°C, 71-00)
France unsure data: Orange (30.8°C, 81-10)
Germany: Karlsruhe (26.6°C, 81-10)
Iceland: Kirkjubæjarklaustur (14.9°C, 61-90)
Norway: no data
Sweden: no data
Switzerland: Magadino/Cadenazzo (27.6°C, 81-10)
United Kingdom: London (Heathrow) (23.5°C, 81-10)
United States of America: -

Coldest average temperature in the coldest month:

Austria: St. Jakob (-7.5°C, 71-00)
France unsure data: Mouthe (-2.2°C, 71-00)
Germany: Zinnwald-Georgenfeld (-4.6°C, 61-90)
Iceland: Reykjahlíð (-4.8°C, 61-90)
Norway: Karasjok (-17.0°C, 61-90)
Sweden: Jokkmokk (-17.5°C, 61-90), Jokkmokk and Nikkaluokta (-14.6°C, 02-13)
Switzerland: Samedan (-9.1°C, 81-10)
United Kingdom: no data
United States of America: Chicken, Alaska (-29.4°C, 81-10); Umiat, Alaska (-29.6°C, 81-10, not permanently inhabited)

Coldest average high temperature in the coldest month:

Austria: St. Jakob (-1.6°C, 71-00)
France unsure data: Mouthe (3.2°C, 71-00)
Germany: no data
Iceland: Reykjahlíð (-1.8°C, 61-90)
Norway: no data
Sweden: no data
Switzerland: Samedan (-1.6°C, 81-10)...i'm pretty sure that some villages at a much higher altitude have a colder average high (for example Juf), but I couldn't find data for them)
United Kingdom: Dalwhinnie (4.3°C, 81-10; 2.7°C, 51-80), Leadhills (3.8°C, 71-00)
United States of America: Chicken, Alaska (-24.3°C, 81-10); Umiat, Alaska (-24.4°C, 81-10, not permanently inhabited)

I'll be thankful for any new data... especially if it is data of the average year temperatures, cause i didn't consider them yet.

Edit: I will accept any new data without questioning it by asking for sources (although it's always better if one can show a source) and so on, cause the effort would be to big and we're not scientific institute. But if someone wants to correct data contributed by me or an other user, it would be nice if he could state a reason why the previous data is false and it would be awesome, if a reliable source could be posted as well (in such a case), which clearly shows, which data is correct.
I wonder where the OP got the data for Iceland. (By the way, I am doing research for a fictional climate.)
