Dublin
Dublin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Wikipedia lists 1961-1990 averages; I'd like to see more recent figures).

Boston
Boston - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Both cities are very close in annual average temperatures. Dublin has an oceanic climate with mild winters and cool summers. Very cloudy but relatively dry.
Boston has a continental climate with cold, snowy winters and warm summers. Decent amount of sunshine.

Boston for the colder, snowier winters, higher rainfall, more thunderstorms.

Boston has overly warm summers, but Dublin doesn't have winter. Boston wins.

Dublin doesn't have summer even by London standards (though it's not as bad as I thought, and possibly slightly better than 60 miles across the water in Wales where I used to live), so Boston wins.

Boston. A better summer and it's colder winter is so much sunnier. Dublin seems like a damp cool place to me.

Dublin is so depressing...and it's not just the climate.

Boston, while the winters aren't ideal at all (too middle of the road), wins out over Dublin mostly due to the sunshine and warmer summers.

Boston's climate is far superior imo. Much warmer summers and snowier moderately cold winters. Gets a nice amount of precipitation without compromising on sunshine-close to my ideal climate. Dublin is far too cloudy and cool year-round, annual average temperatures are similar but I imagine Dublin feels considerably cooler.

The first time I visited Boston was on St. Patrick's Day; not a good way to get a feel for the city. Or maybe the best time to get a feel for the city...

Dublin's a bit too bland and Boston has much nicer summers, so Boston wins.

I don't like either one of them. They're too warm all around, except for Dublin in summer afternoons. Dublin's sunshine figures are nice, as opposed to sunny Boston. I still choose Boston, despite the hot summers, because it has some wintry weather, unlike Dublin.

Boston by a mile. Dublin's sunshine levels are in my 2nd to bottom category.
