Very tough choice, but I'll have to go with Boston. Summers are probably more pleasant than even in the semi-close NY metropolitan area. Winters are sufficiently cool and snowy. Nor'easters keep things interesting as well. Too bad it doesn't have Dublin's sunshine hours.
Boston for me as well. Even though the winters are colder than in Dublin, the summer is much better which is more important for me. Not to mention Boston is much sunnier and has more interesting weather such as thunderstorms.

Summers are definitely milder than the NY metro area, but they would be warmer than where you live, since the nights are rather warmish. Actually very close to Long Island but very slightly cooler, especially winter and spring.
