Its "possible" June could look like this. Canada warmer than parts of NorthEast.

This is the current temps as of 1:30pm.

Basically what I'm thinking after next weeks heat into the East, ridging will develop over the Northern Atlantic, Greenland, and NE Canada and become strong. This will force the polar jet to retreat southward which in turn would make temps look like they are today.

Parts of NorthEast are about 10 degrees below normal for the day highs in the low 60s and Canada in the mid 80s!

DGEX model has Sunday being the warmest of the next 7 days. 90s into the northeast.

Euro has it warm as well. Probably end up upper 80s since they are underestimating that blocking

Over the weekend in Chicago it was in the low 90's both days. Today's high was 65. It's supposed to be hot again near the end of the week.

It was a cloudy start to the day here but the sun is shining now and temperatures could reach 25C.. normal for May to reach the mid 20's, I'm just surprised it's taken this long.

Well the temperature peaked at 24.5c / 76.1f with clear blue skies all day. Minimum was 8.8c so quite cool, tonight should see the first double digit minimum of the year.

^^ Nice! Your high was more than 5°C warmer than ours.

Temperature map upside down today, a bit like Cambium's...

The cool and rainy period will probably end soon. Nancy, Lorraine got 103 mm from a storm last night.
