Hey there are signs at the corner of National Harbor Blvd and St George Blvd as you are entering the Harbor that says Site Available for Senior Living.... near the big open lot.

Are they looking for a developer to build a senior living facility there or are they already planning to build one there, does anyone know?

Just curious...

I have heard birds chirping that this will be moving to the national harbor area. Peterson already opened one in Ashburn.

If they have 17-25 acres to spare, I don't see a problem. national Harbor is a 300+ acre property.

It seems NH is requesting to add 3.14 acres of land.
After reviewing the request i found everything good except the sections about road access to Oxon Hill Rd

I'm surprised they say "no access from Oxon Hill" for the public as a good thing.
I believe the neighborhood will benefit a lot if there is an access to/from Oxon Hill - at list a Pedestrian/Bike access should be opened.

Here is a link to Public hearing agenda - Nov 5

The Marine Corps Marathon raised the hackles of a lot of runners when it announced that, after 10 years of hosting its annual pre-race expo in the District, it would move next year to National Harbor in Prince George’s County.

The expo is a two-day health and fitness fair that also serves as the location for all the race's runners to pick up their race packets and numbered bibs. Reaction on Twitter from current and former runners, starting Friday — the day before this year's race — was swift and merciless, with many noting National Harbor’s lack of Metro accessibility.
A big win for NH but they'll definitely need to work with the MCM management in the next year to work out an efficient way to get the estimated 30,000 runners into and out of NH for this expo. I think this will definitely serve as an example for other large events who's organizers may be thinking of hosting at NH but are skeptical because of transportation issues.

“I have 364 days to work out a robust shuttle plan, and I’m going to work my hardest to make it right,” he said. The armory and the convention center, and previously the hotel in Crystal City, were easy for some to get to — but not for all. He expects the Gaylord to be similar.

Marketing at its best. They can have it at NH one year. It can be called a failure. But only after tens of thousands of visitors have already come through NH due to the marathon, some perhaps for the first time. Failure for the marathon logistics team, win for NH.

I agree. Leave registration in DC. Perhaps have a pre-event festival at NH and for those who want to go to that, they can.

MGM Casino resort is starting to take shape. You can see the rectangle pedestals for the giant screens (4), the skeleton of the hotel, and the plinth which I believe is topped out from the looks of the photo. I imagine the outer shell of the building will be complete by next spring.

I am starting to become concerned with the traffic in and around National Harbor. It will be a nightmare with rush hour and 7pm shows at MGM. Will bring the southern beltway to a crawl.
