I thought about that as well and felt that would be another obstacle. Although the government has been really aggressive with shedding property in recent year but it would still be a challenge since its historic property. It should also be mentioned that NPS considered building a HQ there at some point. It could take 30 years for that to happen but that said any usable land could be locked up until a decision is made.

Interesting. I believe Forest Heights is going to benefit greatly from National Harbor. Expanding is smart. They could provide alternatives to National Harbor but still be close enough to use it to market.

Question. How will annexation benefit them if the land they are wrapping into their jurisdiction is public/federal and not controlled or owned by them. Does this give them the ability to control how the land will be used? If so how does their decision as a municipality trump the use of Federal land?

Maybe this growth will let Forest Heights get rid of those speed cameras near 210/Livingston Road, and that short section they control on 295. Those speed camera on 295 cause a ton of backups.

Honestly I don't know. I don't know if they have plans to go beyond the land they already have, but I do know that they have long term plans for Eastover Shopping Center area and so it will be interesting if they will go beyond that. I heard years ago, the area used to be a popular areas for scientists that worked at the Naval Laboratory to live given it's proximity to DC. It is an area that PG could definitely take more advantage of.

He is very bullish, so I am certain he has noted all the people who have stated that they do not like the name and have threatened action. I definitely think they would change their tune, but he won't.

As far as VA, I think they would put it in Loudoun County for reasons as you stated. Loudoun County is actually still largely undeveloped and so there will be plenty of land there, they have highways, and they will soon have the metro so that helps. The infrastructure is just a lot better and they still have plenty of space to design the road systems how they need it. I heard Mike Shanahan complained when he first found out that he had to travel all the way to MD for game day. To have the stadium, headquarters and practice facility near each other probably would make the most sense in VA.

To be honest though, if the naming issue was not on the table, the RFK site makes the most sense, but that's probably not happening.

Blah who cares about where the stadium goes, the real money is where Redskins Park is located. I'll glady trade the stadium in PG for Redskins Park....hell half of the NFL lives in either bowie or woodmore anyways as quiet as it keep

Actually most of the players live near Redskins Park, where they work on a daily basis. Perhaps they have off season homes in those areas, but there are a large percentage of players that live close to their practice facility.

Good deal. Pun intended. Doesn't seem like we'll be looking at a completed and functioning $1.2 billion facility in just 20 months.
