Impressive snow squalls from the Lake made it down to NYC with 1/2 mile visibilities. It snowed here for 10 minutes. (2nd time this year). Temps now below freezing in VT so watch for those slick spots out there. More of the same tomorrow with wind gusts too.

This weather Feels very old school without the warm ups we had this month. The cold air has been pretty good.

There was about 2" down when I took the dogs out a couple of hours ago, big gusts of wind too. Not sure how much longer it will snow, guess we'll see in the morning! Stay safe out there everyone.

I'd say maybe 3" here at about 1400 ft. elevation this morning, but it's a solid blanket. Not a scant 3"

Sugarbush is only calling it 5" at the summit - I'm sort of surprised it's not more.

Pre Thanksgiving Storm Update::

Click here to see my update and the latest with graphics. Might have to scroll down a bit.

If you have the choice, get where you need to be by Tuesday night. Whether its heavy snow (which I think for most of you guys) or heavy rain and wind, Wednesday won't be a good day to be on the road.

We also got about a solid 3-4", and it's still coming down. Stowe Mtn is saying 4-6 which doesn't seem like much either.

Reposting this from your other thread from this morning Cambium...it always makes me laugh how different some of these forecasts can be...so we can be getting anywhere from 3-14" depending on who's right lol.

I personally wouldn't recommend it.. There looks to be a lot of liquid with this system now and if that translates to snow that's going to be a mess. We'll know more exact timing tomorrow.

Storm Update::

NAM model now in range... Has a 986mb Low over NJ Wednesday afternoon = Very heavy rains and gusty winds near the coast. 984mb Low right over CT Wed night. Over 2" of rain for many in 24hrs. Virginia over 5 inches of rain. Heavy snowstorm for Higher elevations of West Virginia up to the northern tier of VT.

BTV:

" IT REMAINS TOO SOON TO
DETERMINE P-TYPE DETAILS GIVEN UNCERTAIN EVOLUTION/PHASING OF NRN
AND SRN STREAMS. THOSE WITH TRAVEL PLANS WEDNESDAY SHOULD CONSIDER
PROSPECT FOR WINTER TRAVEL CONDITIONS ACROSS THE NORTH
COUNTRY...BUT THAT IS BY NO MEANS A SURE THING AT THIS POINT."

I started a thread on this storm in the Weather forum on this storm and will be updating there probably more than in here to keep this thread uncluttered..

So if you want constant updates save this link and subscribe to the thread so you get an alert for every post. I don't get paid to do all this but I hope you all are safe and enjoy tracking this storm with me. Significant snows are possible for the interior.
