The fate of the gate guard F/A-18 is better than a couple of A-4s and A-7s at the USAF weapons range I manage. However, they ARE training a new generation of fighter and bomber pilots.

As for the new pic, it looks old, cold and Warsaw Pact. Arkhangelsk, Russia?

Kind of like sinking a decrepit naval vessel and having it become a reef, but hopefully without the radiation...kaiju and all.

And, no, not Arkhangelsk (or Arkansas, which my computer tried to helpfully autocorrect to).

Da. It is Murmansk, Russia. It’s the most populous city north of the Arctic Circle, and the last city founded under the Russian Empire. Your turn.

Looks like a nice day at Foster Beach on Chicago’s North Side, a short walk from the Berwyn station. I remember the Aragon Ballroom is not far from there. Saw a lot of great bands play there, and remember watching the sun rise over the Lake Michigan from that beach. Awesome pic Dave. Now, if I were going to post a Chicago pic today, I’d have done this one...

SluggoF16, you’re up for next pic. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
