1) Received pronunciation
2) "Derek Nimo" type of accent , fairly common in some circles in the Cotswolds - Always makes me smile- Silly yet fun.
2) Scottish ( Mild-Edinburgh or Scottish Highlands NOT Glasgow)
3) Welsh
4)West Country ( mild)
5) Norfolk ( mild)
6)Geordie ( mild)
7) Yorkshire ( mild can be cute, strong is hideous)

Equally horrid to my ears :
Brummie, Cockney,Liverpool, Glasgow.

Lovely though the accent may be, I've just come off the phone having been talking to a Geordie in a call centre.

I needed a translator.

From an American perspective, Scottish is simply amazing to me.

I like the Yorkshire, Welsh and Western Country accents a lot. I like the Aberdeen accent, Glasgow's . . . not so much - so I wouldn't lump "Scottish" into one accent.

What accent is this? I love the way John Bishop speaks. John Bishop - Teenagers, puberty, and sleep overs - YouTube (http://youtu.be/SnGU2C15j3g - broken link)

I know but he says he didn't grow up there, moved away when he was young so I wasn't sure. Still a Liverpool accent then is it? Then I love it.
