It will be very nice. Very modern. It looks like something you would see in the major metropolitan areas. The architect's did an amazing job with the design.

Love the project, but where will be the parking lot necessary?

I looked at a March this year video on the city site that said for 15 million more they would include a 500? car parking garage to the East I think of the property.

Later, I may add the video later. The entire city council meeting was about 2 hours long, with one hour approximated devoted to the conference center, very detailed.

Yesterday, I called the East Texas State Fair to see when they will stop using the property. The fair has a lease thru 2026. The ETSF has a lease right for 40% of the total property or 40% of the parking lot, I don't remember the detail, the point was they were not going to use the land they own until 2026-2027 to far out for me to be too interested.

Actually, it is expected that in May of 22 that a county-wide election will be called to be held in Nov. of 22, if construction is approved then, construction may start in late 2023 ready to be occupied in 2026.

I lost interest in the courthouse construction then, the odds are great I want still exist on this earth, if I do, most likely won't know that I DO in fact I exist. lol

Same thing about the new ETSF grounds, hopefully, 2026-2027

After squandering several years trying to get the Cumberland Village group and adjoining hotels to "give" us a convention center, the current city fathers got busy and have brought this to fruition. It looks really nice. I would have preferred to see it closer to downtown but perhaps they will figure out a way to provide trollies or shuttles so visitors can go to the downtown restaurants. Glad to see they are keeping the Mayfair Building, etc. The Rose Center building could use a facelift as well in my opinion. Too bad they couldn't figure out a way to make room for the fair to continue to operate in the same area. I have not been to the fair in ages but I know a lot of people wouldn't miss it plus many church groups used to make money from the concession booths. I understand commercial ventures have just about overtaken the church groups now though. Hopfully they will be successful in their new location.

Christus Trinity Mother Frances to open 24 hour emergency center in Lindale, Texas.
I used to go Mother Trinity Frances clinic on Troup for my eyes. Tyler's medical community is a godsend for many in East Texas who'd otherwise have to go to Shreveport, Little Rock or Dallas for quality care.

Starbucks is definitely making their mark on Tyler. A 11th Starbucks is planned on Old Jacksonville Hwy.
