I love this whole little family, including Cookie, never did get the negativity. They make me smile. There's a lot of love being passed around there...

It was nice to see Jason tell Bethenny that he and his parents do appreciate what she brings to the table and how she has positively affected them.

However, I couldn't believe he complained about paying $45 for a Christmas tree in L.A. He said he could get three for that price in Hazelton. Who is he kidding? I lived out in the country in New England for 33 years. I left 17 years ago and you could get one tree for that price. That's about what it costs in TN, too. And in Florida - southwest Florida - it could go well over $100.

He really is cheap.

And why was that country boy so afraid to ride down a hill in a pickup truck?

One other observation. I love dogs. But Cookie is incredibly badly behaved. Obviously I've noticed this before, especially when the little witch bit the wedding planner. But she is so on my nerves now that I had to say something.
I think a lot of it is for the cameras & also, they both have strong personalities. It's not all him & it's not all her. She can be relentessly overbearing while he doesn't stop it w/ some of his stuff...which is why I guess they are to a certain extent very normal!!!

I just think she has figured out what to say & how to say it better when the cameras are rolling. She wasn't about to marry a wallflower. Her language can be a little trying but she was cracking me up this past episode. (I've heard she has a heck of a mouth on her at her talks). They both get on my nerves at times but I am still watching & it's been a great season! Her show is far better than the RHs this season & Pregnant in Heels (such a dissapointment)

The CMas tree thing bugged me also. I've never seen 3 trees for $45 anywhere ever & I've lived in way too many places.

Hazelton isn't country but suburbs. I would have been a little freaked out also. It was all a little too staged but Brynn looked so cute as usual. Not sure why the assistant needs to go everywhere w/ them. All it was missing was Ethan

His parents must be hurting a lot. I have a friend who lost a child last year & it is something, just from a friend standpoint, that is incredibly painful & the pain never goes away. It's very hard to explain, so I can only imagine his parents & what they deal w/, especially as they were put on camera to deal w/ some of it. And to his defense, he has to deal w/ the pain, also. Bethenney & him both brought some MAJOR baggage to the marriage.

It was a good season. Hope it stays real & look forward to a season 3

I agree about Cookie, she has been way too spoiled, and allowed to act poorly.
I love when Bethenny asks Jason if it hurts after he makes a purchase! I think him being cheap is just a cute quirk. I mean it didn't actually stop them from buying the tree. I immediately think of my fiance's father who always complains at family dinners if there's no butter on the table for the bread, he says "oh geez what do I put on my bread?" and then the rest of the family chimes in with mocking immitations of him and my fiance's mom smiles, rolls her eyes and puts the butter on the table. No one is actually upset, it's this fun family inside joke. It's like Jason always HAS to say something about the cost.

I was thinking this.

B will find it amusing until Bryn turns about 3. Then it'll be really bad when she hits her teenage years if she isn't disciplining her very early.

I just can't see them disciplining her very much. Jason might "try" but Bethenny is going to sabotage it. B's got that sarcastic sense of humor. Bryn is going to imitate her and probably be even worse.

Here's where the problem is going to come in. Bryn is both their first child. This is probably the first time in her life that Bethenny ever felt true, true, complete, unwavering love for someone. (did you see her face when Bryn said "mamama"??? I almost cried --- Bethenny's face showed such a love and happiness)

Anyway, without trying or realizing it, they're going to spoil her rotten. She is going to have every latest toy, gadget, "thing", etc. When she gets a bit older, she'll get expensive clothing, etc. They're not really going to know how to say "no" (Jason might, B? I don't think so).

I disagree with this dog/child comparison. Look at how crazy Ramona can be and then look at her kid, she's seemingly normal and well adjusted. Look at Jill's kid; Jill AND her dog are both crazy and Alli seems fine. I don't necessarily think that because Cookie is spoiled, Brynn will be too. I don't have any children, but I've had dogs and young siblings. Kids are much easier IMO.

I know there are other examples, Housewives are just such a common reference that I know everyone will know!

I think they both are good examples of a hard work ethic that will balance out in the end!

Really, kids are easier than dogs?
Seriously, you have no clue & I don't mean that meanly, but in all seriousness. You have no clue.
Your best bet is to stick w/ animals if you think they are harder than kids b/c a child will have you begging for mercy 4 days into their new birth.

We never see Avery. We rarely see Jill's daughter. I think that is a good thing. None of these women are remotely normal (guess that is why they have a tv show!). And the only time we see them is when they are shopping or eating. I would be all smiles too if my mom was footing the bill for the clothes to make sure it got on camera.

I have 3 boys. And I refuse to get a pet. It's the last thing I need right about now

And how she does treat Cookie does indeed say a lot.

Only time will tell. We have to see how she will do when Brynn reaches the 4/5yo stage.

Parenthood (to humans) is a wonderful thing, but it is not easier than raising a dog [i had a dog until my mid 20s, so I get what it takes to raise one]
