FBI was at the the spot until late last night using a blue light with goggles. Today I just heard John Walsh came out and said he believes the mother Casie killed the child.
Anything that the defense might say is just legal rhetoric as far as I am concerned.
Casey Anthony is entitled to competent representation under US law. Someone/entity who wishes to remain anonymous is funding her defense with some of the most high profile experts available. What sort of motivation do they/it have--book deal/movie --it doesn't make much sense to me whatever it is.
A few days ago they mentioned analyzing the duct tape for finger prints and or everything else. They also say that the child's body was wrapped in a sheet and that links it to Kaylee's bedroom in the Anthony's home.
I can't imagine what sort of defense will be possible.
A good chunk of her 'dream team' has taken on this job pro bono...why? I have no idea...
I actually heard that they can go back with the things they found and ask for it now. They had said that before they found the body
That was my understanding as well. That the death penalty would not be pursued if they had to go to court without a body but after they had a body the death penalty could be an option. I'm not a huge proponent of the DP but it wouldn't bother me too much in this case.
Free advertising, what else? It's pretty simple really.
Why would they take on a case they are going to lose? Are they advertising they can't prove much? I would understand moreso if they took on a case pro bono if there was a chance in hell they could win...

They get extended free national and possibly international television coverage. The value of that is pretty high. And the chance that they get her off on an insanity plea of some sort is pretty damned good.

That's because they are media w***es. They will take any publicity good or bad.

I think insanity is very difficult to prove. Wasn't Angela Yates at first found guilty and sentenced to? life in prison and they appealed and she was found to have been insane --with decades of documented diagnoses and treatment plans?
I'd like to know how much $$ has already been spent on this case and how much more will be spent.
