I was thinking the same thing myself, only one better- leave her without compassion at all in a country that has no healthcare for uninsured. That's the world she helped make with her own destructive behavior, coupled with the 40 yr burden for her annual maintenance. Drop her off in the tundra of alaska. See ya!
NYS reinstated its death penalty years ago, and the then popular governor cuomo decided to announce due to his religious beliefs he would pardon anyone sentanced to death. That was the end of his career. IMO if a horse cannot be a horse anymore, you put him down. I see no reason why people involved in crimes so egregious, so heinous, so beyond the pale, over the line that there is no coming back, should be allowed to live in a bird cage paid for by the victims.
I think sentancing should consider if this human being has any potential for rehabilitation, and use public funds in earnest for that effort for those who can, and cut loose the dead weight of those who never will be. Life's harsh, make it harsher by abusing civilization, you'd pay this price in nature with wolves.

They should offer her the needle so she can die faster if she wants to.

Well remember the article did say that she was married to her attorney. I'm sure she will be living RATHER well in spite of the life she has lead up to now.

No, she didn't serve life yet. A life sentence isn't thrown out when you get a boo boo. She should only be release to a coroner. Then and then only, is a "Life" sentence completed.

And no, don't offer her the needle. That's still letting her get her way. Suicide is wrong, whether we do it, or she does it.

"...release to a coroner". That's perfect!

I'm sure she was not feeling any compassion as Sharon Tate begged for her life and the life of her unborn baby. I don't think she should be allowed out for any reason.

Agreed. Life should mean life- not life until you are sick.

According to her Web site, Atkins is a born-again Christian who during her incarceration has worked to aid at-risk youth, victims of violent crimes and homeless children.

Why is it that criminals always "find Jesus" after they get caught? Why don't they ever "find Jesus" before they rob, rape and kill?

She didn't show compassion to her victims before they died. We shouldn't show compassion to her before she dies.

The golden rule is almighty. Do unto others as you would have them do to you.

That is what most of them claim while in prison, a good share of their victims probably found Jesus before they were killed. I don't have much faith in the ones that became bible thumpers in prison.
