The 20 yr old half brother from Johns first marriage was in the home. I've never seen him addressed as suspect.

Well, I quess you'd have to get inside the mind of a criminal. An outsider would want to cast doubt on the family and choose their risks. Wouldn't they? Sociopaths and pedophiles are clever. Whoever did this had no previous criminal history. The DNA under JonBenets fingernails had no match in the police database, of course DNA not necessarily from the perpetrator.

Do they run that DNA through their database periodically to see if a match shows up?

Or are you saying this was a husband /wife team the family knew? Now thats really grasping at straws.
I didn't say a thing about a "husband/wife" team.

Someone can find out info from their spouse and then act on it. Doesn't mean the spouse was involved in the actual crime.

Yes, I believe he was ruled up fairly soon in the case. Haven't looked up the info on that in a long time - this is just from memory.

A lot of folks had speculated that he could have been the perpetrator and people still mention him on other crime forums as someone they suspected.

I never thought that was likely.

I think this is a case of someone who had watched the Ramseys for a long time, was obsessed with JonBenet, and knew the Ramseys were gonna be at a party that nite . . . take it from there. Stranger things have happened.

Once a case is closed, I don't know. Is the case still open?

I think both the children from the previous marriage had airtight alibis and were ruled out!

It is still open. I just read an article that stated they are periodically checking the DNA registries.

I don't know if the case is open or not......but I would think with such a high profile case......and LE bungling the original investigation......that they would run that DNA through the data base at least once every 6-12 months.

I would think LE everywhere would periodically run DNA in all cases similar to Jon Benet's.......since pedophiles rarely victimize only one child.

I know if I was John Ramsey, and I was innocent, I would be pitching a fit if they didn't.
