Why does anyone WANT to go to IKEA? I understand the NEED to go to IKEA...but WANT to go? I don't understand that.

The "fartest" place I have shopped is probably spencers or maybe a music store back in the day when we used to buy CD's. Its the places that had the most young people because you know young guys leave fart bombs all over stores.....it is how we try to make shopping fun.

As for shopping, I have never "traveled" to shop. Most all of the big name stores carry the exact same brand names and styles regardless of the city. You just have to know which store to look for what. These days, if I have something in particular I am looking for and know exactly what I want, I tend to find the best price online and order it.

Sure, the big name stores, but is that all people shop in? Every used book store, record store, clothing store, art gallery, etc will have different items.

With in-city mileage added (store to store, hotel etc), I travel about 1,050 mi round trip to Phoenix and 1,010 mi to Denver to shop on a regular basis.

For no reason other than to shop? Probably 45 minutes to a mall that is a little further but I hadn't been there before. It was just a mall, and I never went back.

I went on a shopping trip to Toronto from Sudbury once. That's about 370km distance. My mom sometimes drives up to Sault Ste. Marie, ON and crosses the US border into the American version of the same city to check out the stores in that area.

I drove from Cleveland to Dayton to eat a submarine sandwich once - does that count?

From Cincinnati to Newell, W.Va., to shop at the Homer Laughlin factory outlet, but that was one of several reasons for the trip.

Otherwise, not very far. Less than an hour, and probably to an outlet mall.
